G et to know, Serge Mouille. He was born in 1922 and sadly died in 1988. And was the most important French designer ( Ooh Lala ) of lights of the 1950`s.
His reputation and preminence have since been long admired. Today, his lights are 20th century decorative art classics and very sought after. Mouille worked for a few years in the studio of Gabriel Lacroix, before setting out on his own in 1945 - with the intention of creating silverware. In 1955, he was introduced to the society of artist decorators and a year later, showcased his first work in a gallery in Paris. His work is best known for having a minimalistic look. Painted entirely in black and with a highly functional purpose. Towards the end of the decade, he
began to draw industrial lighting. Each Mouille lamp was manufactured by himself, by hand. (wow)! He never yielded to the temptation of industrialization, despite the fact that the number of orders grew steadily and he could not keep pace...If you want to know more, about the amazing Serge Mouille you can buy the book below. And by the way, this is not a sponsored post. I just came across this book on the web, while looking for information about the great man himself.
Here are the variety of lights available to buy, from Serge Mouille.
CEILING LIGHTS

Wall lamps with pivoting arm - (single)

Wall Lamps with pivoting arms - (double).

Wall Lamps - with multiple pivoting arms.

Floor Lamps - (single).

Triple - floor lamp.

Aren`t all of these rooms, pretty amazing? I`ve been coveting Serge Mouille fixtures for a while now.... And I would love to have one of the ceiling lights in my bedroom, one of the floor lamps for my son`s bedroom and is it to much for wanting one of the wall lamps with the pivoting arms, for my living room?  As you can see on the photo below, ( of my lounge ) the upright light fixture in the corner, ( I bought it quite inexpensively from a second hand shop ), although it does the job that is required... its nowhere as near as lavish as his!

- You may have noticed that small hole in my living room wall... (on the photo above) that sadly happened last year, when my hubbie was fitting a light switch on the other side of the wall in our hallway. This is another job out of the may others... that will get done...another day(s)!

(The lower light is perfect for when I want to read... while the taller one is perfect to create a lovely cozy and welcoming ambiance). Remember this post, shine the light, where I talk about the importance to have the "right" light fitting to create the right ambiance? Well this one does two jobs in one. I know I do keep saying this a lot... but really, if you can`t have / afford... improvise! Until you can afford the real deal! Hopefully soon. Unfortunately the prices for these beauties are way to much for my small purse (just as yet). So, it is with great dismay, that unless the family eats beans on toast for a complete year, it`s not going to happen any time soon. Oh, just one more thing, I just did a little research and happened to find this website called www.voga.com that sells the amazing Serge Mouille inspired light fixtures. I`m beyond excited to share these with you guys... But they are selling these lights at a fraction of the original price.
The prices are as follow:

6 arm ceiling light - £ 277.00
3 arm ceiling light - £ 205.00
single wall light - £110.00
double wall lamp - £220.00
floor lamp with 3 arm - £251.00

Updated post:
- I just found this other amazing website www.retrofurnish.com that has a great selection available of Serge Mouille lights,
at amazing prices also. Well worth checking for price comparison.

Sadly, there`s only very limited stock and what is even more sad is that by the time I will be able to afford any of them... they would have sold out, for sure! Sobbing face. But as long as any of you get to buy them... I`m happy! :) Please note: This is not a sponsored post. None of these guys don`t even know that I exist! Haha. Also, while resourcing I came across this other website www.1stdibs.com that is also selling these lights. I could not believe that to customize a Serge Mouille spider ceiling lamp with five arms, costs only (a bit of humor going on here) wait for it... £5,233.00. What the hell! That would be a lot of beans and toast for a lot of years! What about you? Do you like beans? Are you a great fan of Serge Mouille lights, like myself? Have you got one, or your like me... wishfully hoping! P.S - Just one more thing... before parting with your hard earned cash, always search, search, search to see if you can get it cheaper anywhere else! And sometimes just wait! Do not rush into buying, when you can buy it somewhere else at a fraction of the price. It makes sense, right! Also have a look at Ebay and Etsy to see if you can find any of these lights, even cheaper!
Since we all know, that these are the two places you are mostly likely to find those BARGAINS!
