Let The Changes Begin

C
hanges in the dining room! These photos below are of how my dining room used to look, 8 years ago.
At the time I used to be crazy obsessed with the Osbourne's home... and I mean, really obsessed, to the point that I even bought their DVD just so I could drool over their home, by watching it -  over and over again!
- These are just a few photos....I think I might have lost the others, since I cannot find them. Believe me, this room used to be full to the brim. And this beautiful needlepoint Aubusson rug, back then complemented my dining room, just fine!
(Sharon`s and Ozzy`s home, on the photo below).
On theses photos below, you can see my more or less empty dining room. (The walls have already been plastered and painted white, wooden floors are now replacing the laminate flooring that we used to have. I now have a blank canvas to play with. Let the fun begin!).
I would love to paint my furniture, to make it a bit more modern... unfortunately that just isn`t going to happen! A very sad face going on here! You see, we bought this table new and after 10 years almost, it is still in pristine condition, since we only use it for special occasions! So, since we are planing to move home in a few years, (more about that on a different post)... we might have to sell it and I would imagine that if we were to paint it, the beautiful carved details just woudn`t be as noticeable and we might get less money for it... so I guess, I just will have to decorate around it! And also, can you spot the antique grandfather clock? I always wanted one to go in my dining room, so I saved my pennies for a very long time to be able to afford it! It was an Ebay purchase, not cheap, but I see it as an investment piece, that was my excuse to buy it anyway. I searched and searched for the one, that would compliment my dining room furniture "wood finish" the best.
"On a cold and rainy Sunday,
I just love having the real fire going, hear the clock chime...
while preparing our must have family Sunday roast!
 Awww pure bliss..."
-The photos below, are of some examples of how lovely my glass cabinet would look, if painted.
(I have a HUGE temptation to paint mine right now)! Please, somebody stop me! :)
Believe me, I`m so tempted that I have gone pin crazy! By pinning sooo many painted dining rooms sets to show them to my hubby to try to convince him, but he is putting his foot down on this one... and maybe, just this once he might be right! Haha So I`m hoping that perhaps by upholstering the chairs seats, my dining room furniture will have a bit more of a vavavoom, without the need to be painted.
Previously, I attempted to decorate this room by painting the walls black, (you can read and see more on this post) but sadly it just wasn`t working for me. You see, when wanting to decorate by painting your walls black, there`s some "rules" that shouldn`t be ignored, so I`ve decided to used a more uplifting colour on the walls instead. Below are some samples...
Please do come back to see the full reveal, on my next post... I would love to see you here again!
