I f you happened to read this other post of mine, about how I failed (miserably) by using black paint in my own dining room, please don`t be put off by using it, because I haven`t! Actually now, I`m more determined than ever, since I`ve learnt from my mistakes,
and because of that, I gained great knowledge on how to use it.
And sometimes the best way to learn is... by making those unfortunate mistakes.
So I`m sharing with you, my own tips, while hoping that you too, will succeed and love using black paint on your walls. Believe me, once you read this post... you will nail the trend on how to use the darkest of all the colors!

So here are my own tips,
that I have learnt from having used black wall paint in my own home:

- Make sure that you use matte paint.
As glossy or even satin paint
will show most of the wall's imperfections,
(especially if your home happens to be as old as mine).

- Avoid painting the ceiling black and paint it white instead, to make the natural light bounce!

 - Something else that helps to reflect light are... mirrors.
They are definitely a must have!
And more the merrier.
- Also use lots of white as accents.
Black juxtaposed with white makes a bold statement.
- Used well by mixing metal such as gold / copper / and chrome, black can offer,
drama and warmth to what could be an uninviting place!
- Lighting is just as important, both natural or artificial!
And unfortunately, this is where I went wrong in my dining room. There`s just not enough natural light coming in through the day... sadly!  So I cannot stress enough how important it is. (P.S - Notice the little touch of gold in my own dining room, on this photo above?).
- Bright accessories are just as important!
They add interest and will avoid the room from looking
 far from dull and boring!
Also, please be aware that there`s many different shades of black out there and that too,
can make a big difference on the end look of your room!
I hope that these tips have inspired and have helped you, just in case you were considering using black paint in your own home! While me? I`m still utterly obsessed with using this darkest of hues, especially after seeing these rooms. Every single one of these interiors, draw you in and act as a frame (so to speak) to every colour and shape in a room! So with that in mind, I`m already planing where to use it... But where? You will have to wait to find out! Sorry, I`m teasing you again! ;)
