In this post I'm sharing my trusted tricks for decorating a tree fit for a designer or
straight out of a magazine, but on a shoestring budget. I hope that you will find it helpful!

HERE IS MY STEP - BY - STEP TO HOW I USUALLY PUT MY CHRISTMAS TREE TOGETHER:

-To start off decide the color scheme or trend that you are looking for.
This year it was black & white, with a choice of different metallic`s throw in.

-Then add the lights (if you don't have a pre-lit tree).I know it probably is the most boring part to do, but it is the most important since a tree that isn't well lit or has holes in it won`t look finished. (I bought our lights at B&M - they have a good variation and tend to have the best prices out there).

-Now, I normally add the ribbon.
It helps to add depth to your tree and fills in some areas and holes.
This will be the base to which you can add detail.

-Next, I start to add the baubles. They vary in colors, sizes and textures. And the more the merrier since they really make the tree.  I tend to put them on the end of the branches and I also tuck them inside - again, to hide any holes which might still be visible.

-Now, be bold and don`t shy away from large - scale decorations.
" It`s all too easy to play it safe. The bigger the better.!"
-This time, I filled the holes with big faux flowers, big rhinestone ribbons and other bigger ornaments
such as the wooden stars, that works just as well.

-Next, I stand back and look for the awful not so lovely holes that might still exist... and are needing to be filled.
And I do just that!
Also, I check and see if there's anything else that might need changing...

-Now, I take more elements and add them to my tree... I normally use the ones that I bought the previous years (to keep the costs down). And I tend to buy just a very few new Christmas decorations each year, to help refresh the look of my tree.

ANOTHER TIP:

"- I also like to use whatever else I can get my hands on and fill every space with, to make my tree that little bit extra special.
" Ex: I remember using my children`s teddies one year (when they were little)...
and just last year, I used cute small photo frames!

- And also if your tree is a bit sparse around the base, beautiful wrapped gifts placed at its foot, are great gap fillers.

-Finally, here comes the tree topper!!! It has become our family tradition, that we all have to be together to see it go up - and my sweet hubby, is the one that adds it to the top of the tree."It could possible be, because our tree normally tend to be so full to the brim,- that its just impossible for me to be able to reach it! :)

-And the final step?
Is to stand back and admire your tree and all that it means to you and your family!

"For me it means, that another year has come and gone.
My children are quickly growing up and we should feel blessed -
 with what we have."

AND A HOUSE TO CALL HOME!!!
